Rainwater Harvesting - Ocean City Residence

Bill Hoffman, Owner of National / American Waterproofing

Ocean communities are prime candidates for rain harvesting systems due to how water bills are structured. Bills are sent monthly (as opposed to quarterly) and are based on water usage (which contains a stormwater / wastewater fee - which can be 4 to 5 times the water bill itself).

Bill Hoffman, owner of National American Waterproofing doesn't only believe in his services - he uses them himself. For his Ocean City residence, Bill felt that a rain harvesting system could have an impact on his monthly bill. And he was right. The goal was to minimize water use and reduce stormwater runoff – a 600 gallon tank was installed under the deck, downspouts were redirected, a filter was installed at the base to filter debris, and a first flush diverter was installed. The result was that monthly bills were cut by 70%.
